# Is it safe to attach magnets or a MagSafe ring to an Electra One?

Hello, I want to add a MagSafe ring to the base of my Electra Mk2 so I can easily put it on a couple of stands I own. I assume the magnets in the ring & stand won’t break anything but wanted to check before I mess up a perfectly good unit!

I’d be very careful - E1 Mk2 is substantially larger and heavier than even the heaviest iPhone, and the magsafe magnets may not provide sufficient attraction. I am not saying it will just fall off, but when you operate the unit - twist knobs or tap the screen - chances are magnets become dislodged.

If you want to mount it on a stand - I’d consider some clamping solutions, like tripod mounts for larger tablets. Good ones would clamp the body quite securely, offering rubberized grippy pads on the clamps.
