Things are ready. We just want to roll Electra firmware version 4.0 out first. That version is developed with Mini in mind, making our (and user’s lives) easier. We want to have 4.0 out before the end of year. Mini will be available in Q1 2025.
Great news, thanks for the info.

I for one, would just like a box that has the same width as the E1, same amount of buttons and same amount of encoders. So basically the E1 without the screen.[/quote]
Interesting idea. And maybe easy to design ?
I have had two ideas for extending/increasing the number of rotary encoders from 12 to 36.
The first is a USB attached extension of 4×6 encoders that sits below the E1, extending simultaneous control to all parameters on the screen.
The other is a larger E1 that has 36 encoders, with three smaller screens, one for each of the current three sections, and each with 6 encoders above and below.
Does the mini include CV?
Will it be possible to make presets on the device directly? Or, will this be possible at any point, e.g., something similar to the Mortrix?
i cannot imagine that to be a good experience.
unless you could just setup simple cc controllers.
Why not? Even for simple on the fly basic controls (similar to what we have on the editor but without any custom Lua scripts) so one creates effects on the fly without using computer and mouse?
All other touch interface devices allow for complex parameter editin (midi or not).
I would guess that the added expense for the D/A conversions plus possibly more power required to properly generate +15 gate pulses plus the additional outputs would be more than most people would want to pay.
If you’re OK with 10v gates, pair the Electra One up with a device like the cv.ocd to give you a lot of added flexibility.
not on the controller. We have built a prototype of a simple eurorack module earlier this year. The module can be used to extend E1 (both OG and mini) with 8 analog outs and 4 analog ins. Any “analog in/out” can be used CV or gate. The idea was to make it possible to use Lua to script CV processing. We are not sure, however, if we continue developing it. There are are quite some good modules that can do the same (ExpertSleepers, Befaco and cv.ocd as @oldgearguy mentioned)
The 4.0 extends the Electra One firmware with a toolkit to make “forms” directly on controller.
We are using it now for managing the configuration, router, etc. Adding a preset editor at later stage seems feasible and we are planning to work on it. It is important to say that we will, of course, keep working on the web editor too. The web editor brings many extra benefits that are harder to do on the controller.
Awesome. The ability to make rudimentary stuff on the controller will be good for many usecases. “Make something simple on the go and refine on the web editor later” kind of thing!
hi, is the mini going in production?
Looks like 4.0 is still in the making.
