First version of a preset for the UB-Xa.

It’s only controlling the upper part + some controls of the ARP and SEQ of the lower + relevant global settings.
But all menu diving for the part parameters is hereby gone.

Most important thing to me is that I now have helptexts to all shortcuts (in grey or dark blue color) by touching their corresponding pots.
So no need for the manual to know what can be found where on the physical instrument.

Hello. Wondering if you did any more work on this preset? I’m thinking of getting one but would like to have patch parsing available. Cheers, John.

I didn’t do any work on it since then, but now I’m much wiser :grin:

I’ll need to check the conversation @Electrolove and @oldgearguy had on the topic last year Need help with Behringer UB-Xa sysex and will take it from there.
From their conversation 2 things are apparent:

  • a single patch dump is split into several reply messages, probably 7.
  • there is some specific name character decoding involved (decoding needs to be done per pair of characters, not character per character).
    This behringer clone is much more complicated than the original one, so it’s not really a clone anymore but rather a replica.

I’ll give it another go in order to resolve the naming decoding, the patch parsing and how to deal with upper and lower parts.
