Ok - bear with me as I’m trying to get my head around this.
Is it possible to pin presets to ports on the E1? My use-case is that most of my currently loaded presets communicate via the USB Device Port and control my DAW/VST’s etc.
I do however use the rather amazing Lexicon PCM80/81 preset all the time. I notice that all presets currently send outbound messages via the USB Device port and Midi 1 Out (in other words I see activity on these ports via the top row). This leads to my PCM81 occasionally showing ‘unknown command’ type messages on it’s display.
Sorry if this is somewhat basic but I’m scratching my head..
Can’t see anything built into the preset for midi/port configuration
I must be misunderstanding something fundamental in the way this works however (even having read the E1 docs again).
With the PCM editor loaded if I go to the devices config page on E1, I can see ‘Lexicon PCM 80’ on MIDI PORT 1; MIDI CHANNEL 1. Even if I select PORT 2 for the device (device moves across to MIDI PORT 2; CHANNEL 1 on the configuration page) MIDI 1 OUT indicator flashes when a parameter is changed.
I added that feature to some of my presets. I’ll look to see if I can put it in the PCM one.
Since the Lua code was written “a long time ago”, it didn’t take advantage of some of the newer capabilities Martin had put into the E1, so the port is probably hardcover.
