Hi, I use quite a few VST instruments, etc., from Native Instruments and have also mapped all my third-party VSTs into Komplete Kontrol at some point. While I don’t particularly like the idea of a wrapper for the instruments, this concept, along with my NI S-series MK3 controller, offers me the deepest integration and the most in-depth control over the synthesis of the instruments at my main workstation. However, I often just jam on the sofa, and that’s when I thought the Electra One Mini would be the ideal controller to complement any mini keyboard. I’d always hoped that NI themselves would release something in this format. Since Native Instruments opened up Komplete Kontrol to other manufacturers about a year ago, it was relatively easy to create a corresponding preset on the Electra One Mini (CC21-28 for the encoders, CC36+37 and 40-43 for the knobs). So far, so good. The Electra mini has exactly the same functionality as Akai, Nektar, Novation, Arturia, etc., when controlling NKS in Komplete Kontrol. Unfortunately, that’s where it ends. Ideally, the integration would be bidirectional, meaning that when switching controller pages in the Komplete Kontrol plugin, the currently controlled parameters would be displayed by name, along with their current values if possible. This works with the NI controllers; values are sent from the plugin to the outside, but I have no idea what format they’re in. Does anyone have any ideas? Is it possible to read these parameters using a learn function on the Electra one, or is there any documentation (which I haven’t been able to find)? Furthermore, you can browse through presets with the original NI controller, which isn’t possible with any of the other keyboards that offer NKS support. This is probably a deliberate design choice by NI to gain a competitive advantage. But here too, the S-Series keyboard must be sending some kind of SysEx data or similar that should be readable. I would be grateful for any ideas or suggestions.
