Very excited for the possibility of finally getting a device, and an mkiii at that. have only seen two MKii show up on reverb in the past year and both were snatched up before I could get to them. Need to set a reminder to log in every few days to see if there winds up being a pre-order after all
The MK2 is sold out and the MK3 is yet to be produced. Well, waiting a bit longer won’t kill me.

Stumbled upon the MKII and it’s exactly the controller I’ve been looking for/wishing someone made. Stoked to hear there is an improved MKIII planned. Can’t wait to get my hands on one!
Looking forward to the mk3 version, will defnitely get one when it releases.
But for a future or pro/xl version I would love a crossfader on the bottom so you can fade between scenes!
I want to get rid of all wires.
Adding Bluetooth for controlling midi devices and also the editor would be useful.
Ability to run off standard size rechargeable batteries would also be useful. This would avoid issues with shipping batteries.
Maybe in a future Mini 2.
I am very excited for the mk3, is it still on track for 2026 Q3? I will absolutely buy one at the first opertunity

I am sure some of you have noticed that I have not been active on the forum over the past two months. Unfortunately, I had to focus on another important matter in my life, and the time I could spend on Electra One was significantly affected.
As the situation is slowly improving, I hope to be able to resume work on the software, including both the firmware and the editor. The main software goals remain unchanged: to make the firmware open source and to allow the editor to run offline.
However, to ensure that we have enough capacity for software development and can continue providing proper support to our existing users, Zdenek and I have decided to significantly reduce the number of new controllers we produce.
A batch of Electra One Minis is currently in production and should be available for sale in September or October. Although MK3 prototypes already exist and look promising, the project will be postponed and may possibly be cancelled unless we can be confident that we are able to provide an appropriate level of service to both existing and new users.
It is important to note that, although we are reducing hardware production, we are not planning to freeze or scale back the software side of the project. The community is very important to us, and we are actually looking forward to having more time to focus on software development.
Last but not least, I would like to apologize for my slow responses and for leaving some questions unanswered recently. I had to take a step back to make sure that other important matters were properly taken care of. Thanks for understanding.

Due to the growing number of requests to join the Electra One Mini waiting list, we have decided to allow users to pre-order controllers from the upcoming production batch.
The controllers are already in production and are expected to be available in September.
The “Pre-order” button is now active on the electra.one website.
Unfortunately, we have had to increase the price. The cost of components -particularly RAM, flash memory, and SD cards - has increased a lot, making it impossible for us to maintain the original price.

Last year I was very excited to finally buy an Electra One controller for my many knobless synths but it was sold out for many months. Then I learnt about the mkiii and I got even more excited. Now it is probably never going to be released and also no mkii is available. I guess, I’ll have to keep searching for other solutions for controlling and programming my synths in the future but it is rather disappointing for me. Oh well…
Hi, I understand, and I am sorry. It is not that we do not want to make the mk3, the current situation simply does not allow us to do so. And we could not predict that…

I sold my Mk2 for £318 on Reverb in anticipation of the Mk3 which might not arrive 
looks like i’m going to re-commission my Kenton Control freak.

I don’t really mind if there is no mk3 (especially if it doesn’t have more knobs) but how are chances of a new batch of mk2 in the near term?
Even though this may seem like a logical step, we cannot and do not want to take that approach. There are two reasons for this:
- The CPU used in the mk2 became significantly more expensive in 2025. We suspect this is largely due to Renesas, the silicon manufacturer, encouraging customers to transition to its newer products.
- We built a prototype using the new CPU, and the results were remarkable. Graphics performance and processing speed improved substantially.
We have also already secured these new CPUs for the future production. From that perspective, producing the mk2 again would be a step backward.
As mentioned elsewhere, the main reason the mk3 is not moving forward at the moment lies outside the E1 project. I will post updates in this thread if anything changes.

Does that imply you will eventually make the Mk3? But just not now, and without a timeline for now?
