We will ship as soon as we have some units assembled and we will be shipping them in the same order as the pre-orders came in. May 11th is a deadline - probably for myself - to make sure everything is out. It is also the first day of the Superbooth. I want to see smiling happy people there
wow! So … what about us mkI users - how difficult would it be to exchange the CPU/board? 10 solderpoints? 100? 1000? I mean would it be possible to upgrade?
@Martin I guess that is also a good deadline to have a first real stable release for the Ableton remote script
Whole board is new. Soldering is not an option, replacing the board could be possible. It is still a job for a technician. I will think about how that could be done.
I am hoping to have that one out sooner Also, it needs to run smoothly on mk1 anyways.
This would be good to know.

Aiming for that as well!

Oh yes, pleeeease make this possible! It’s a bit steep for me to buy a new one and try to sell the old one in these unruly times. Alos, upgrading stuff is more in line with reuse and environmentally friendly (I hope).
I will come with a way to do that. I like the idea and I like the green factor of doing that too.
However, it is important to mention that mk1 will still do the job. Many of new features will run on it just fine. It is like having two generations of iphones. The new one can do more, but the old one still works and updates are available.
Presets like @jhh’s ableton or soon to be announced DrivenByMoss are designed and made for mk1.
What I am trying to say is that the upgrade or mk2 is not something we cant live without
Well, I went ahead and preordered :-). Any idea when the first ones will start shipping?
Always wanted a second unit. Just preordered very excited to continue to support this project.
Not before end of March. I will keep buyers updated on the progress.
Trying out the latest and it works pretty good so far.
The mixer not but I have not updated the mixer template yet.
Looks very promising.
Thank you so much for making this happen.
Dank je wel!, Diky Moc
So it sounds like if what I am mainly doing is controlling VSTs, the Mk I should be more than adequate, correct? Sorry if I have been away from the forum for awhile, I have been spending an inordinate amount of time with my new Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave.
IMHO, for the vast majority of users and use, the Mk I (original) is more than sufficient since it’s already running the amazing 3.0 OS which brings so much to the E1.
That’s what I figured, thanks for confirming. I have been out of the loop the past few months, have a few things I need to figure out.
The on line documentation is the definitive resource. Martin has been working hard to keep things up to date. In addition, if you pull up the web editor and just play around creating controls and such you’ll see a lot of the additions there.
Could you consider other buttons? They are dustmagnets and is imo the only flaw on Electra One´s hardware. I would prefer hardplastic buttons similar to MPC One etc.
With my new Futur E1, i want a Sticker !
