Generic Midi Port Channel 1 Stuck as Channel 16

In my Preset Generic Midi Port Channel 1 has somehow changed to being Channel 16, so I have a duplicate of Channel 16 and no Channel 1! If I go to make a new preset the problem is fixed but I have sunk a lot of time into my current preset and would like to keep it! How do I change channel 1 back to being channel one?

Hi,

  1. select the device with the channel 16 you want to modify (switch back to 1)
  2. click on the device properties icon in the sidebar - the Device editor will show up
  3. change the channel back to one in the Device editor

Perhaps I am misunderstanding, but it sounds like you are telling me how to switch the device in the dropdown menu, which I know how to do. If you look at the picture i posted, the first channel listed AND the 16th channel listed in port 1 are both channel 16.The only way I can have access to channel 1 is by making a new preset entirely.

when i try updating the json file it doesn’t save or update, it just reverts back.

these two steps are to actually change the channel of given device - not just to select it.

I do not see “device properties icon”, I see “control picker” “selected items” and “control categories” on the left and “lua editor”, “debug”, “midi console”, “json source”, and “help” on the right. am I in the wrong place?
