Many years ago I was a little bit into Sysex but I lost any knowledge. I think I would need a startpoint - controling one parameter of the JD wirh the right Sysex string for a E1 button. Then I could try to work out the rest…

there is some resemblance between a JD-990 and the XV-5080. I’ve worked a (long) while ago on the XV-5080 but need to resume that work.
The XV-5080 has things like 4 tones, all of which can be selected to audition separately, but also selected to edit together or separately. Also the fx section is quite complex and I haven’t started to work on that yet.
If you have not much knowledge on SysEx though, both these Roland synths are not the best to start with…
