Hi guys i got this old harmonizer device that has a extensive midi implementation but most of it is sysex. There aren’t many midi controllers these days that does sysex. This was actually the only one i found. A have a few questions.
Is it possible to do presets/patches in the unit itself or is it a must to use the editor?
Can knobs be linked? (For example when wanting to control several OSCs on a synth from only one knob.
When using the software does the preset you working on automatically gets official to anyone to use/download?
Any link to the latest manual?
I’m using a small Faderfox EC4 atm for all my hardware but it doesn’t do sysex.
Anything special to know about before purchase? Can it produce any form of midi event’s on it’s own like LFOs and such?
I have a digitakt 2 so it’s not really important but you can never have enough LFOs
I wush you guy’s a nice new year and may the beep be with you

What exactly do you mean?

Yes, you can create your own faders for such purpose, which, through a bit of lua coding can control multiple controls at once. Check out a preset , called morpher, where one macro control, changes multiple CC’s at once

No, you can make your preset public or private. This is a community , and we love people share there presets. It is also nice to meet fellow gear lovers that then help test and make the preset even better. But it is good you first have a workable preset, before you publish it.
LFO’s
As stated elsewhere, you can do this. But do remember this controller didn’t start as a real time controlling box, but as the most flexible controller there is out there for manually intervening with old and new hard- and software, and for reading at setting parameters. So it’s forte is its flexibility, not particularly its clock accuracy.
I meant can presets be made on the unit standalone or is it needed to use the computer software editor.
I think i got the answer on this from S.O.S article i read. Software is needed to make new presets.
If i need to learn scripting/programming to be able to make simple presets i don’t think this is a device for me…
Also strange there is no manual for it only a kind if crash course with basuc how to do it lessons. Everything i learned about it us from that sos article.
I think it sucks you need to know programming to be able to use it. Yeah incan limit myself to only buy hardware that there are ready made presets for… i for example have a bunch of boutique pedals with midi control. There’s a very slim chance someone ever making presets for these…
If it’s possible i will look at the software on the web.
I’m just after making a simple editor from sysex. I read in the SOS article that it wasn’t to hard and he didn’t use any programing i think.
Other than that just make simple presets for controlling my hardware. Of course it would be cool to implement different types of midi generator stuff but that comes second, and after understanding lua(?)
Again - if you mentioned the piece of hardware, folks might be able to tell you how easy/hard it will be to create an editor for it. Yes - you can send/receive sysex messages without needing Lua coding … for a lot of things. Again - folks here have touched a lot of different hardware platforms (old and new) and might be able to set your expectations correctly.
FWIW, this is one of the most helpful forums on the planet. Folks have a shared interest to see others succeed, so never be too shy to ask/speak up with questions.
