Unless I completely missed smth, it looks like the Remote Knob assignments. as well as MIDI Control assignments, together with their associated MIDI Routing options, are currently “global”. It would be truly spectacular, if those could be made savable per preset, so that when a preset is recalled, it recalls those parameters as well.
Idealy, with user-selectable “mode”: Global vs Preset. So those who don’t want to complicate things, could keep those settings global, the way they are now, others could have a choice to get different configs in different presets.
yes, that is correct. The setting is global and affects all presets. I will add the idea to the TODO list. Please do not read this as a commitment to do that immediately. it means the idea will not be lost and will be evaluated at some point
I understand it may not be the most requested feature, but I’ve recently became really impressed by the possibilities that open up when using various external controllers with my E1 MkII, and the Remote Knob feature is stellar, but everytime I want to experiment with a different external controller and different knobs/faders/buttons mappings, I have to clear and re-assign them in Remote Knob section.
I know I can work with direct incoming MIDI commands intercept, and that’s what I am using now.
Oh, and while we’re at it - I have another related question that I posted earlier, about MIDI routing for Remote Knobs and MIDI Control - do they have to be different. or is it my user error? I could not use the same external controller to control both Remote Knobs and some MIDI CC if the routing was the same (USB Host Port 1 to MIDI IO 2).
