Can you program the rubber buttons on the Electra one?

Hi everyone!

I have an electra one and I have question. Is it possible to program the rubber buttons on the electra one to send midi cc’s / note on/off? I don’t use the functionality currently assigned to some of the buttons so wondering if I can repurpose them

Thx!

Hi,

I asked a similar question recently, here was @martin 's reply:

@Sean.Good.Vibes I listened to your set yesterday while working

I would like to add a bit of info to what @Phommed mentioned. I actually see it as two topics:

  1. Allow presets to listen to hardware button / knob actions.
  2. Allow users to customize the hadrware buttons for whole device (without regard of what preset is loaded).

For (1), I am almost certain that the first step will be adding support for triggering actions on the “shift” key + knob combos.

For (2), the upcoming beta brings selection of commands that can be assigned to the buttons (page, preset switches, etc). I am also considering that there was a way to trigger Lua functions that would not be associated with any preset (defined on the controller level). These could be used to do the MIDI messaging like you mentioned.

Ahah thanks for listening!

So yea I’m just imagining using the buttons for fill’s / muting or unmutting sounds

But I think a Shift + press knob function could work as well. I don’t use the knob buttons as is mostly because I don’t want to accidentally press them hahah.

I also thought the buttons would be nice because i could be playing with the knobs tweaking parameters and then quickly press a button. Would feel better than a shift combo I think.
