Electra One bricked [Solved]

I must have made some memory leak in a recent preset , but I can’t correct it anymore. On startup the Electra One freezes on that preset.

Going into USB disk mode doesn’t work anymore (in order to remove the preset): when pressing the lower right button on start up, the disk mode screen appears, but there is no response to the commands. Pressing ‘enable USB disk’ doesn’t do anything. Nor does the E1 appear as a disk drive.

How can I unbrick?

Have you tried holding the upper left button during the start?

Thanks for the feedback.

There are mixed results: it does free up the controller, by moving to the first preset. But I can’t still delete the bad one (the moment I try to delete that one, the E1 is bricked again). And whatever I do, the touch screen remains unresponsive. The pots react though. In other words I can only change to other presets in bank 1.
As a test, I tried uploading a working preset to bank 1 ,preset 1. Sure enough, this works, but still without reaction to touch.

So I’m partly bricked now.

That’s a pity but in this case probably only Martin can help. :man_shrugging:t3:
Have a nice evening anyway.

Well, good news.

By installing 2 more good working presets, the touch screen started working again.
Now I’m able to enter USB disk mode, and clean out the ill built presets.

Hi @NewIgnis,

The bootloader startup issues indicate that the filesystem on the SD card may have been corrupted by the crashing preset. Uploading new presets might have patched or bypassed the problematic sector, allowing the system to function again. I would, however, suggest to reformat the card and put the default files on it. You can find the default disk contents at Electra One firmware | Electra One Documentation

Let me know if you need more help. The E1 Mini keeps me busy but I will keep an eye on the forum.

Martin
