I might study the spec a bit more but from what i can see there are a lot of parameters which are only available depending on which oscillator model you choose or which filter model you choose. Hmmmmm. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a midi implementation like this. Lol.
Yup, very interesting, ain’t it! Logically, it makes sense, but presents challenges on how we would typically work with Electra. I was reading up virtual parameters in the latest firmware update: Firmware 1.5 - #7 by martin. Wondering if we could somehow apply that to reuse certain repeated controls.
I was wondering the same but I don’t know enough about virtual parameters to hazard a guess yet. Definitely gonna read. I’ve been trying to finish my an1x/plug 150an preset. That too has multiple parameters for a single sysex number depending on what a particular setting is but the plg150 is easy compared to what the exbmoss is looking like. Once I finish my plg150an I’m just going to make a start and keep refining it as I learn more.
Yeah, this thing seems like a bit of a monster. So is my Kawai, lol. Let’s see what I can try over the weekend .
I think the virtual parameter will not help here. This really is related to Show/hide or enable/disable controls/pages :) - meaning the visibility of certain control (or a group of controls) would depend on the current value of another control. Let’s continue the discussion about this in the above topic.
Yes, makes sense. Meanwhile, exb moss is giving me good handle on thinking about user experience with Electra, and how to determine what is more valuable to add to the preset, since we ‘just’ have 432 controls .
How is the AN1X preset coming along? I’m happy to help with testing if you need it.
I have most the Parameters done except for the modulation sequence. I also need to code the bits to request the current patch but apart from that I think it largely ready for testing. I’ll share it either tonight or over the weekend.
That’s great. I look forward to trying it out.
PLG150AN is the name of the an1x preset. I named it that because I programmed it for the PLG150AN card which is supposed to be identical to the AN1X syses specification. Let me know how you go with it. Here’s the link
PLG150AN
Thanks for the link. I have been a bit busy, but give me a few days and I get back to you with some thoughts. Cheers!
I have sent you a PM.
Thanks for the feedback. I’m a bit busy with work at the moment. Feel free to take a copy and modify it as you wish.
