Mk2 no longer responding to touch

My original Mk1 that I upgraded to Mk2 a while ago, was stand-by in the last months. Now I want to take it back into service, but the screen doesn’t respond to touch anymore. What can I do ?

I am not sure if i remember that correctly, but I think you may have encountered some difficulties during the upgrade, didn’t you? There is not much that can go wrong with the touch, but there are two important things to check:

  1. make sure that the touch sensor cable is correctly seated in the connector:

even tough we use the tape (or a double-sided tape from the other side of the cable), we saw the flex cable become loose when manipulating with the PCBs.

  1. check that the flex cable is not damaged at the bend. The image below shows an example of a damaged cable.

Any cracks or cuts will affect the touch sensor.
