[Preset] Roland MKS50 / Alpha Juno

A preset with full support for Roland MKS50 / Alpha Juno.

In order to automatically update Electra controls when patch is changed on the panel following must be set:

[TUNE/MIDI]
MEM. PROTECT OFF
TX TONE APR ON
TX PATCH APR ON

I’ve made a new Alpha Juno preset. As yet untested and WIP. Patch parsing will come :wink:

@martin ; could it be your MKS50 preset from January 2020 is no longer importable ? No longer compliant? At least I couldn’t open it.

I worked futher on the untested V0

what should work:

Page “Main”

  • control the patch parameters
  • visualize the envelope

Page “Name”

  • set the patch name
  • change the MIDI channel on the fly
  • set the patch bender range

Page “Performance”

  • alpha juno tone modify (upper 8 buttons)
  • use an additional E1 LFO with morphable shapes and LFO oscilloscope
  • layer an additional MIDI channel
  • change between polyphonic and monophonic voicing
  • perform a program change

what is not yet done, but will come:

  • patch parsing

Juno arrived. I got the remote control working, as well as patch parsing, IF you invoke a program change on the Juno. But not yet when invoked from the E1. The patch name setting is also something specific that’ll need some more attention.

EDIT: The preset is ready, and has now become V1

  • all patch parameters, except pitch bend range

Page “Performance”

  • set the pitch bend range
  • use an additional E1 LFO with morphable shapes and LFO oscilloscope
  • layer an additional MIDI channel
  • chord mode
  • perform a program change
  • patch parsing and show name
  • change the synth MIDI channel

some limitations to the Alpha Juno

  • you can’t set the patch name remotely
  • patch parsing will only function if you perform the program change on the
    Alpha Juno, not on the E1
