The top bar of the E1 Mini shows the various connections on each port and indicates traffic.
It would be very useful to have a setting to hide this Midi Status Bar … and just as useful to allow this space to be used for other purposes, including:
- Room for text display controls (like the bottom status line, but larger, better, and on the top)
- Give all the space to the remaining controls
- Give all the space to the bottom status line (it’s pretty tiny and one of the few, easy ways to display text)
In almost all but a “hey this isn’t working at all” situation, the information displayed is less than helpful (arguably flashing indicators that have little to do with the music … and detract/distract).
The E1 Mini has very little space to begin with, and the font sizes are too small for me to see unless wearing glasses. It’s too precious to use that much (or any) space for the current device indicators. YMMV.
