I’ve been testing the current EG choices on Mk2:
AR
Shouldn’t the AR choice be graphically represented as if there is a Sustain phase fixed at 100%?
Or perhaps been given the choice between showing a sustain phase or not ?
So when there is no sustain phase, this is rather an AD EG. With a sustain phase, it becomes an AR EG.
ADR
Same suggestion as for the AR
ADSSR
ADSSR is actually an ADBSSR. Its graphical representation fails however when:
- sustain = 0
- sustain < 0
- breakpoint < 0
Also it would be an improvement to represent all six controls above their respective knobs. Now I’m often turning the ‘Sustain’ knob when I intend to change ‘Release’
AHDSR
An alternative based on this one should be a DAHDSR as for instance found on Moog Sub37. The first D is a delay phase
FOUR STAGE
The Four Stage should have 9, not 8 parameters: now Level 4 is simultaneously controlling the start ànd end level, where it should only control the end level. Thus a ninth parameter is needed, which should be Level 0. This would then be usable for Korg’s Pitch EG’s
But perhaps it’s also better to rename 3 levels :
- Level 0 = initial level
- Level 3 = sustain
- Level 4 = final level
