On travel with no hardware. I’ll look Wednesday and get back to you with some tests, questions.
@oldgearguy
Just wanted to double check if you want me to run some additional tests in meantime?
Well, it’s up to you about more testing.
If you have a known good MIDI path between the Electra and the PCM 70 and the PCM 70 is set up to transfer system exclusive data and memory protect is off, you should be able to press “SYNC” on the Electra One screen and then select a patch to edit.
Only after SYNC and patch selection should you try to do any edits. Turning controls before both of those things will certainly cause problems.
The Electra One PCM 70 editor tries to determine if you have a OS v2 or OS v3 and adjust things to match. It does other set up things as well.
If it properly syncs up and you can download a patch, the first thing I would do is look through all the pages and verify that the values are correct. If all of them look correct, then we know for a fact that the communication between the Electra and the PCM 70 is working properly.
I was in town for a bit and am leaving again Friday, returning 20 March. after that, I will need time to set up a dummy PCM 70 that simulates the real hardware.
Again - the PCM 70 is very picky. I did test it with both OS 2 and OS 3 before I sold the PCM 70. I know the SYNC and patch download will work. What I do not know is if every variable edits the full values properly all the time.
However, we should take 1 step at a time - SYNC, patch download, verify values.
