@z1v (Ziv) aka Loopop published a great presentation on the Electra One series yesterday on Youtube, with a nice demo on how Claude AI helped him develop an impressive preset.
I cannot thank Loopop enough for what he did. I am constantly being asked about a video like that, but I have never had the skills or the time to do it myself.
The demand is a good thing, but all I really want is time, time to actually use my E1s, create presets, and catch up on delivering everything I have promised and that many of you have been waiting for for ages. So while the growing demand is good, it definitely comes with its own challenges as well.
I would also like to mention that Loopop reported issues as he tested each feature. He sent me a short video or a photo for each one. That was extremely helpful and benefits all of us.
It was great to see my Ableton remote script featured prominently as well. As Loopop mentioned in the video (and as he privately told me earlier) he did run into freezes when using the session clip trigger page on the premium version of the mixer. If anybody is using that, please let me know your experiences. If you notice bugs, don’t hesitate to contact me so I can figure out what goes wrong. I hope to soon start recording some more detailed videos on how to use the remote script. Also, some support for the Mini is planned. (Although in all fairness the mkII is the better platform because of the larger screen, with touch).
One thing that was quite apparent in the loopop video was unresponsive screen interactions. I especially find this with swiping from the top. I was also wondering if the page buttons at the top still work as buttons, or if they are just labels? I can’t click on them at all but it might be the screen protector I’m using
I have the same experience : swiping from top is not working reliably.
Also selecting a page when shown on the top end of a screen isn’t reliable enough as well. Though it looks better on top, the experience when it was below was more useable. For now I stopped using that feature. It’s not that critical in using the device (for me).
I own the Electra One MKII for nearly 2 years now and after this video I feel like I have a completely unexplored device. I have no idea where those presets with the non-standard (editor-based) UI elements come from. I would appreciate some tutorials honestly since without those I feel I will never get the true potential of this device.
I regularly watch the videos on Loopop’s channel, and I’m a big fan of everything he does.
His video about the Electra One MKII and the Electra One Mini made me order the Mini version (too bad it wasn’t an affiliate link!).
I hope to use it with my recently acquired Dirtywave M8: Model 02, which I absolutely love.
I’ll try to share here any preset(s) I manage to create, in case it might be helpful for other M8 users.
I’m really happy to join this community while waiting for my Electra One Mini to arrive.
