Loose encoder on new mini [Solved]

Hello,

I am happy with my brand new mini, working on some presets.

However, as soon as I take it out of the box, it has a loose encoder, the bottom left. The knob slides up and down on the shaft and also has some movement in rotation before it latches.

I see that each encoder has a screw hole, but none of mine have screws in them (on the side of the knob), perhaps this is by design? I do not know, I cannot see in the photos on the website.

I can upload or link a video and photos if that helps.

How to address?

oh. There is a screw in each knob and the screw is used to fasten the knob to the pot shaft. @Mint-Gecko reported the same problem with one of his knobs. From his photo I could see there was a mark on the pot shaft - ie. the screw was there. Can you check if there are any loose screws in the box or the plastic wrap?

note, the screws are quite deep down in the holes.

We use these knobs and screws for about 5 years now. This is a bit surprising.

PS: here’s the photo and how the hex key is used to loosen the knob: Electra one HW 2.30 and 2.40 mkI -> mkII upgrade guide

thanks for the quick reply and the reference link

it was just a loose screw, and I had not seen it with poor lighting,
with better light I was able to tighten it up with a 1.5 hex key and solved the issue

now I return to some present making
