Simple idea for Layout editor.
When make big list options, sometimes i made mistake, like forgot about one value in the middle of List Items…usually it’s not big problem, just needed to rename all values, down on the list from commited mistake…
But today needed to make list with almost 3k options. From 895 up value i use formatter for dynamic value name change, but to 895 values are constantly, so decided to write it.
Stupid mistake cost me half hour of additional work, needed to rename number by number list from ~600 to 895 positions.
I know, there i can transfer List Options between them, that’s nice, but value still is this same, so i will have shift on value, so need to make this same work either way.
Maybe sometimes mixing values will help with something, i don’t know, but usually they should be counted one by one. Maybe adding one button, to recalculating values will help with that, then You can just put missing text overlay in between, and recalculate values to make it equal?
Just simple idea to make work faster, maybe there’s some trick i didn’t know before.
TBH, anything more than a few items and I prefer using a fader and a value formatter to set names. Much easier to fix mistakes too. IIRC, lists also consume a lot of memory. On one early preset I ran out of memory until I converted the lists to faders. Just a thought.
