Parameters' submenu: global favorites/performance mode

Maybe I’m missing something, but the first problem I encountered using the device is that often you may want to control different parameters that are placed on different rows or even pages. So, in the end you have 12 pots, but you want to use just one or two of them at the same time and then you need to switch to another row or change a page (or even change the app to control something different?). When some app has a performance page that has a more usable and immediate structure, it still may be different from what you want to have bound to all the 12 pots without switching.

The suggestion is the ability to send any parameter to a «favorites» page that is common for all apps. When you tap on the submenu’s «add to favorites» it briefly opens that page where you can chose the row and touch the pot to assign. Drag and drop parameters also would be convenient. When it’s done, it switches to the previous page.

In most cases you can do that fairly simply already:

  • create a favorites page (I usually call it ‘performance’),
  • copy the controls on there you want, so it keeps its original parameter number and type.
  • If the original control had a function assigned to it, then remove that function from the copied control, else the E1 will execute it twice which could result in unexpected behaviour.

Other than that, you’re good to go.

the 4.0 has one extra page - called a Performance page  - it is a collection of references to controls within the preset. The performance page is completely independent from the preset. ie. you can customize it without making any changes to the original preset. Currently. it is fully supported in the beta firmware. The editor still needs doing.

great, thanks! just for the reference, is it planned to make it work globally? like, controlling multiple devices using different presets/apps using one page? would it be possible to send controls there via long long tap?
