Remote Knobs for E1 Mini? [Resolved]

I am working on a Preset for a daw-less jam. I started my work on the E1 MK2 that provides the mentioned feature which allows to assign external controllers to certain E1 control elements.

I now continued my work on the Mini which I’d like to use but this feature seems to be missing. I found the “MIDI Mapping” which allows quite a lot of actions but I didn’t find one to remotely press one of the four customizable buttons. Is there a way to realize it or will this feature be added soon?

Thanks in advance.

Mini fully supports Remote knobs and the hardware buttons can be fully customized (as on the mk2) What is missing is the config editor for it on the web. I am planning to work on it this weekend.

Today I tried to configure my E1 Mini accordingly.

The following configuration settings once worked on the E1 MK2 (only for testing purposes)…:

Now I tried the following one on my Mini:

The MIDI Monitor clearly shows that the data is being sent accordingly.

I’ve tried various settings for CC numbers and MIDI channels, but it just doesn’t work anymore. Neither on my Mini nor on the MK2.

I’m wondering if the bug is sitting in front or behind the screen.

hmm, from what I can see you sent the CC MIDI messages from the computer. At least the MidiMonitor window suggests that. Your Remote configuration is configured to listen to the USB Host / Port 1 / channel 16. How do you send the messages you want to use for the Remote knobs?

Hi Martin,
Thanks a lot for your quick response.

I have an internal routing from a foot controller to the Electra One Port 1. This is just to check if it works. For the final configuration (without a computer) I have a MIDI Toolbox that simply routes the output of the foot controller to the Electra One Port 1. It also didn’t work.

Did I misunderstand something here? I wonder what I might have done differently at the time I successfully checked it with my MK2. :man_shrugging:t3:

I’d suggest to add an extra route in the Remote Knobs so that it accepts messages on “USB Device / Port 1 / channel 16” and then try to send the same messages that you sent already (as shown in the MIDI monitor)

USB Device did the trick. I also recognized that it needs a value of 127. Before I only had = 1 for “ON” which wasn’t working.

Thanks again so much!
