Some questions before I buy!

Hey guys !

Hope you are well ! I would like to ask few questions before buying the product next week to be sure it will match my needs.

Whatever I use a VST or an hardware synth, I want two things:

  • turn real knobs and not digital ones (perfect with hardware but doesn’t work with VST)

  • Record all my automations in Ableton MIDI clip to fine tune it whenever I want and avoid having to re-order audio many times (perfect with VST but less with hardware) This is where the Electra is supposed to help me.

  • For my VST (I use a lot of Roland Cloud VST) I would like to:

  1. MAP all the MIDI CC of the VST on the Electra
  2. RENAME them to make it more clear for me than the standard CC Name
  3. See the value of the mapped knob of the VST on the Electra screen and see it change live when my automation is playing in Ableton (and obviously be able to record a new automation in Ableton turning the knob on the Electra)

And for Hardware I want to:

  1. MAP all the MIDI CC of the Hardware on the Electra
  2. RENAME them to make it more clear for me than the standard CC Name
  3. Send midi CC to my Hardware synth through an Ableton MIDI channel (for the same reason as above to record it in Ableton)

Could you please confirm to me this is possible ? Thanks guys !

Instead of that, you should use the ableton remote script for the Electra One which is in the preset library and there’s a huge thread in this forum about it.
It will do what you want (without manually mapping ccs)

Yes, this works. Which hw synths? A lot already have presets available
