dear electra one,

sorry i really really cannot get my hands around this thing and i feel such an incompetent person. I just want to make a preset for the website with the teenage engineering op-z.
I have connected the Op-Z as a usb host via usb and tried to midi learn something and it doesnt recognize anything.

Now ive just put midi 1 out and midi 1 in cables in the op-z via the line in / line out and midi learn still doesnt work?

I am following the manualstep by step but still I feel like its missing a lot of information on how to setup a preset from scratch…, how do i know if my opz is 7bit? i just onder understand.

I cant find any youtube tutorial on any of this only on bitwig which goes out of my head. And the manual doesn’t make sense.

I know its connected properly because the lights are blinking and blink when i rapidly press the start sequence button again. what is going on?

I am really not that amateur with midi but somehow this just doesnt work, I dont understand and its making me crazy I just dont know what to do…

I thought this was a very promising device but so far it seems its just too complicated for me i guess… :frowning:

Hi there, the MIDI learn function usually work just fine. ie. you enable the MIDI learn and the web editor will show you all “learned” messages as they arrive. I guess there must be something tricky happening. Please, send me PM (private message on the forum) or reach me on the chat when you are available, I will look at it together with you.

As I also have both… first time i’m giving it a go (my E1 mkI and OP-Z)
Nothing here, no MIDI traffic in both ways.

OP-Z USB-C connection can also be a USB host… they don’t seem to go along, so to speak
( There are other controllers that don’t work)

@boombipbass does the OP-Z show up in E1 Settings page?

Hi, what do you mean with ‘the line in/out on the op-z’? I do not have an op-z, but after checking the manual I understood it only transmits MIDI over its USB-C ? Perhaps take a picture on how you connected both devices?
