What is the correct way to power Electra On/Off?
I have my entire studio connected to a few different power strips. When I turn on the power strips, the Electra also power on. When I then turn off the power strips, the Electra also powers off. It has worked since I bought it, but is this correct?
Electra starts up automatically after it is powered on. The correct procedure to power it off is to switch it to a sleep (stand by) mode:
Power On & Sleep Mode
and then disconnect the power. Or you can just leave it in the sleep mode and wake it up by pressing [BOTTOM-RIGHT]
button.
Switching E1 off without switching it to the sleep mode may be a problem when the controller is busy with writing data to the internal sd card. eg. when uploading a preset, saving a snapshot. In such case, the data write will be interrupted. The controller will recover the broken data on the next startup but there were cases whe the auto-recovery failed.
When E1 is not busy with file writing, abrupt power off does not represent any problem.
There was a request to change the power-on sequence so that Electra does not start automatically. Instead, it would go to the sleep mode immediately after the power is provided. I still keep that idea on my todol list.
It seems like my Electra freezes when I swipe down. I end up on this page and Electra freezes. Sorry for the blurry photo.
