Extremely tight USB-B port

Hi folks,

Does anyone have the issue where the cable plugged into the USB-B port refuses to come back out? I’ve tried three cables with the same issue.

I’m afraid I’m going to break the PCB inside the device, maybe not this year, but in the future definitely. I need to be able to remove the cable when I’m traveling to gigs because it isn’t safe for the device and I plan on using the the E1 for many years.

If you do have this issue, we’re you able to fix it somehow?

(I considered putting this into general but it appears to me as a hardware defect / “bug”)

P.S. I did search for this topic but didn’t find it. However, just reading another post now I spotted this comment about ‘very stiff’ connectors. Electra stand - #6 by Foksadure

They are tight, but for me I’d rather have tight than loose. It gets a little better over time.

That’s fair. But I’d rather not think about it in black and white terms. I’d prefer them to be “just right”.

How do you get the USB-B cable out without wiggling it back and forth?

Oh, and thanks for explaining it does improve over time.

I use a small dongle adapter - about 6 inches long. For my setup it saves reaching around the back of the E1 and means I’m not pulling out of and pushing into the jack in the E1. Just a thought.

I also use a short length right angle USB adapter lead, and always disconnect the end away from the E1 if I need to reboot it.

Hey @Red_Hector and @kiwigrass - thanks for the advice. I’ve purchased such a cable. It’s a good idea, it’ll safe me from over doing it on the devices port.

Much appreciated.

Hi, we use high-tension connectors on purpose. The standard connector became too loose over the time and some users complained about that.
